Interessengemeinschaft Bio-Initiative, the Association of Organic Farmers

The association pursues exclusively and directly non-profit purposes.

The purpose of the association is:

• the promotion of organic farming
  
• the promotion of consumer advice, consumer information
  
• and consumer protection
  
• the promotion of animal welfare
  

The purpose of the association is achieved in particular by the creation of standards and seals of approval in the field of animal and plant bioproduction, as well as the observance and implementation of animal welfare requirements.

The non-profit Bio-Initiative gGmbH is responsible for the implementation and compliance with the specifications at the respective production stages. The Bio-Initiative community of interests has therefore transferred the operational area of ​​gGmbH.

However, the contents and specifications for the respective standards are determined by the members' community of interests.
