The foundation of our work

Breaking new ground is the aim of the Bio-Initiative. Despite all the changes, we have retained our corporate
Aims. The consistent implementation of standards is an important aspect of our initiative.

That means:
  •     independence
  •     Objectivity and competence
  •     privacy
  •     equal treatment
  •     animal welfare
  •     lucency
  •     consumer information

Our standards and specifications

The minimum requirements are the provisions of the relevant EU directives, regulations or, in the case of organic animal husbandry, the EU regulation, as well as national animal protection laws and animal protection regulations in the currently applicable version. This includes clear specifications and defined test systems, which are checked and evaluated by independent external controls.

The specifications are constantly updated and adapted to the circumstances. We want the best possible standards for organic farms and orientate ourselves not only on legal requirements but also on animal welfare and sustainability requirements.

Traceability and traceability is very important to us. Therefore there is a cooperation with the Association for Controlled Alternative Animal Husbandry (KAT) in the field of eggs. The number on the egg can only be used to trace where the eggs were laid. For this reason, all laying farms in the BIO initiative must be KAT-certified.

The system requirements of the Bio-Initiative can be downloaded. They are constantly revised and adapted to current developments. The new organic regulation requires some changes that we have already taken into account.

This also applies to the checklists, which are recorded electronically as part of the audits and can be made available to the company immediately. We use the latest technology, ultimately to save time and money. Utilization of synergies is one of our guidelines.

Animal welfare plays a very important role. With the Bonitierung within the range of rearing male and female chicks and putting hens we set defaults, far over the usual standard lie.

In addition, the herds are regularly checked (herd stock sheet for animal welfare surveys). These are checked within the framework of neutral control (audits) and represent a knock-out criterion if the requirements are not met. This also goes far beyond the standard and is unique.

The corresponding documents can also be downloaded.
